Can You Afford A Heart?

I try to avoid politics on my blog because it seems everyone is so attached to their political sides that no one wants to actually discuss differing ideas in the hopes of finding common sense solutions. But there is one thing that seemingly every American agrees to (91%): Politicians are the most hated among us. They rank below used car sellers, journalists and even the ever-intrusive telemarketer.
Think about that. The most hated profession. Throw away your pre-existing poitical beliefs and think about that for a moment. Seriously.
Do you want your healthcare run by the very people we detest so much? Do you want your healthcare to be a political football kicked back and forth each election cycle? Do you want to worry every four years about how your healthcare may change if the political party you oppose comes into power?
You’ve been to the DMV. Can you imagine your outrage when care is withheld from your child because you filled out the wrong form or didn’t have proper identification? How about having politicans in charge of the organ donor bank? The kings of cronyism in charge of organs? They’ll be selling them to the highest bidder. Bet on it.
And most of us won’t be able to afford a heart.
